Welcome to Pride in the Park

Lambda Community Center cancels Pride In The Park: Other Pride events to still be held

It’s no secret that many nonprofit organizations are struggling financially in this lingering economic downturn, and the Lambda Community Center is not immune to those issues. A lack of funding and donations in the past year has taken its toll on the small, but vital, community center serving the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, and Allied community.

That is why the Pride In The Park planning committee, along with the Board of Directors and Lambda staff, have made the painful decision to cancel the 2011 Pride In The Park slated for June 4, 2011, at Civic Center Park in Fort Collins. Only the daytime event has been canceled. The evening events are still scheduled to happen as planned.

“This is the toughest decision we have been faced with to-date,” said Amanda Keller, Treasurer for the Lambda Community Center Board of Directors. “Sadly, we will not have our large gathering in the park this year, but we still have other Pride events happening to celebrate and show support for our community.”

This is the eighth year Lambda Community Center has held Pride events in Fort Collins. Even though this year’s festival has been cancelled, the following Pride events will still be held:
